MOTIVATION The need for motion for people with disabilities in order to develop a harmonious body. 3. WHAT WE WANT 1st Stage: Sports Field- a small sport field in order to practice the following sports: basketball, volleyball, football, tennis and other Surface: 330 square meters 2nd Stage: Recovery Gymnastic – in our conference room which will be multifunctional (or any other corresponding room) Surface: 60 square meters 3rd Stage: Table Tennis Area Surface: 15 square meters 4th Stage: Competition Track – around the building Surface: 200 meters Technical Data -the structure will be made of pavement -small size equipment POTENTIAL USERS 1. The children of our volunteers and of the people with disabilities80 We would like to increase the number of our activities and the number of those that are coming to our association with 10-20%/ year, and we would also like to organize contests in partnership with other similar organizations from our country. President, Iosif Malutan Future Project Development of a sports field and a gym for people with disabilities Mefiboset Christian Centre Our weekly meetings for people with disabilities from Cluj take place every Friday. The regular activities are: •Christian fellowship with songs and prayers •Strengthening the relationships between members •Bible study with active participation •Celebrations with songs and plays •Asylums and home visits •Camps for people with disabilities In order for everything to run in optimal conditions, we hope we will be able to purchase special sound devices and a minibus with ramp for transporting people with disabilities to our centre. Mefiboset Sports Centre Mefiboset Sports Centre purpose will be offering people with disabilities the possibility to move. Until now, we have a sports field in front of the association centre, covered in concrete slab and surrounded by pillars. The sports field will be used by people with disabilities, so it will need a tarpaulin, in case of rain, netting, to prevent the ball off the playing surface, and protective rubber pavement to eliminate the risk of accidents. Besides the sports field, we want to purchase medical rehabilitation gymnastics apparatus. For the beginning, we could use the conference room, but in time, we want to move to another room. We would like a gym with trellises, mattresses, weights, treadmill, exercise bike, balls, weight pulleys and others. CAMPS MEETINGS NEW!! A new project has started at our weekly Friday meetings, at Mefiboset Christian Centre: medical education. Dr. Mihai Ovidiu Tucmeanu will address some useful issues for people with disabilities, but not only. You can ask questions and Dr. Tucmeanu is willing to answer them and give you more information. Our first meetings and medical discussions were interesting and covered topics highly appreciated by the audience. You are welcome to participate to our meetings! THOUGHTS WHEELCHAIRS The wheelchair repairing center was founded on 14.10.2002. It was designed and equipped in partnership with: •Joni & Friends, USA •Stichting Caritatea, Netherlands •Romania’s Friends, Germany •ECCE HOMO, Cluj-Napoca, Romania •SC "SOCLU" SRL, Cluj-Napoca, Romania •Territorial Inspectorate for People with Disabilities •help from many good people The center is available to all people with disabilities in Romania. The repairs are based on donations and sponsorships made by those who understand the necessity of helping people with disabilities. According to the amount of donations, we can hire more people and therefore, fix more wheelchairs.
